Faculty of Liberal Arts, Shinawatra University, Hosts Seminar on Contemporary Watercolor Techniques Connecting Art and Nature
On January 14, 2025, the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Shinawatra University, organized the “Contemporary Watercolor Painting Techniques & Green Instrumental” seminar at Laem Raipattana Community, Nakhon Pathom Province. The event featured KruPae (KruPae: Watercolor), a renowned Thai watercolor artist, and Dr. Thanaphan Boonyarutkalin, a lecturer in the Master of Fine Arts Education program, as key instructors. The seminar aimed to enhance skills in contemporary watercolor painting while fostering awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.
The seminar was part of the “Seminar in Contemporary Fine Arts Education” course, designed to integrate artistic skill development with sustainability concepts. Activities included a river cruise along the Nakhon Chai Si River, a visit to KruPae’s art gallery, and a hands-on workshop on contemporary watercolor techniques using natural materials. The course emphasized experiential learning, allowing students to exchange ideas, critique one another’s work, and develop their own artistic expressions.
This activity aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 15: Life on Land, by fostering awareness of the interconnection between art and nature. The Faculty of Liberal Arts’ curriculum is committed to developing skills that address modern global challenges, empowering students to become leaders of change and make a positive impact on society and the environment sustainably
